Shegerian’s presentation, to an audience of Los Angeles’ leading consumer and employee attorneys in Southern California, focused on the latest trends and issues regarding false claims and whistleblower cases.

In his presentation, Shegerian emphasized the importance of employee rights and the all too common potential for discrimination, harassment and wrongful termination taking place in whistleblower scenarios, where an employer identifies wrongdoing by his or her employer.

“With our economy the way it is now, we’re finding more and more employees who are nervous about coming forward regarding the wrongdoings of their companies because they are afraid of losing their jobs,” noted Shegerian. “The fact is that nobody should be mistreated in the workplace in any economy — be they a whistleblower or not. At the end of the day, we as California attorneys must continue our efforts to protect the workers of our state from discrimination, wrongful termination and other abuses and preserve fairness and equality in the workplace.”
