The allegations are a part of a lawsuit based on incidents occurring from 2013 to 2015, with references dating back to 1995, which the six anonymous accusers say show a history of disregard for sex discrimination and harassment reports at the University of Tennessee.

“While the inclusion of the 20-year old allegations against Peyton Manning in this case may have only a slight relevance to present matters, it does shed light on the University of Tennessee’s attitude about reports of player misconduct,” Shegerian commented. “The university’s alleged reaction is, unfortunately, a very common response from those in positions of authority who choose to look the other way when allegations of sex discrimination and harassment surface.”
