Marie Hoopes
Marie is a dedicated and strategic advocate with a passion for litigation and a deep commitment to justice.
Originally from the East Coast, Marie Hoopes earned her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University, where she studied English Literature and Psychology. She went on to earn her Juris Doctorate from UC Law San Francisco. During law school, she cultivated her interest in advocacy and litigation, which became the foundation for her career in employment law.
Before joining Shegerian & Associates, Marie worked as an applicant attorney in workers’ compensation, where she represented injured workers and developed a deep sense of purpose in standing up for individuals facing hardship. Her experience in that role sharpened her courtroom skills and strengthened her resolve to fight for clients’ rights in complex legal battles.
A lifelong athlete, Marie was actively involved in running clubs during her time at Georgetown and continues to train regularly. She credits her athletic background with shaping her strong work ethic, competitive nature, and resilience—qualities that now fuel her commitment to client advocacy. Outside the office, Marie enjoys cooking and spending time with her two dogs and two cats.
